If these are "AVI" files then the Best way would be to use a Freeware program called "Virtual-Dub" which you should be able to find in the Software section of this site....

What you do is Run Virtual-Dub and then Load your AVI file into it and then go to "video" and set it to "Direct Stream Copy" and then go to "Audio" and set it to "No Audio" and then go to "file" to "save as AVI" and give the File a Name and save it and in a Few Minutes you will have a New File that has No audio.....

You could also do this in Movie Maker but it will take a Long time to render your Project and it will degrade the quality which Virtual-Dub will not do.....

If you have Files that are of a Different Format then let me know what format they are and then I might be able to tell you how to do it with these other Formats....

Cheers

I use DVD Lab Pro to relatively quickly, split up a DVD formated MPG file into a m2v (soundless movie) and AC3 (sound file). It was the only quickish way to professionaly insert the subtitles as an option, so if you simply did not "drag and drop" the AC3 sound file into the production, then you would have no sound. Sorted.

Or you could do your own soundtrack dub like Kung Pow and have a right laugh!!!!!

Was thinking about doing this with the german dubbed Kung Fu Hustle I had, but in the end, I could'nt be arsed.

It's a very funny film when you have the subtiles to guide you, although the German lingo is so soul-less. Could not find a good resource for AC3 files, or else I would have the original Mandarin soundtrack.
