I Open DVD shrink first then I try Open disk for the BRAND NEW DVD Man of the House and when it starts analysing it gets stuck at 5% then it sais:
DVD shrink encountered an error and can not continue
Failed to read File"E\"
Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)
I had encountered this problem before & it said File"F\"
I was told to clean or change the DVD's & it worked.
But this is a brand new DVD clean no scratches & I've actually tried 2 of them and got the same result. Please help or guide towards right direction. Only DVD this has happen with I'Ve backed up over 200 DVDs. PLEASE HELP!!!

Use the latest DVD Decryptor and then DVD Shrink. This has the Sony protection on it.

Shrink and Decrypter are no longer updated. the new sony protection is a real pain in the arse. download the trial of AnyDVD and run that in the background. it should solve your problem.

This sounds like the new movie from hell? LOL

I have talked a few people threw this one already. They have all said AnyDVD or DVD43 wouldn't do it either?

This is how I have got it to work for myself and a few others here.

1. Rip the movie With DVD Decrypter in [Mode] [File F] making sure under the [Tools] [Settings] you choose the [File Mode] tab and select to rip only the [Main Movie]under the select files drop down box. Click Ok
2. Now you should see your VOB files selected in the right window. You need to select the first IFO file just above those VOB files by holding down the [ctrl] key. Now you should have all the VOB's for the main movie and the one IFO.
3. Now rip the movie to your hard drive..

4. Open Shrink and click on [Re-author] you can't click on open files because that just wont work.
5. Once you clicked on [Re-author] just browse to the folder you ripped the movie to and you will then have a "title 1" in your right window. Just click on that title and drag it to the left window.

Now you can proceed as normal and backup your movie :-) Sorry if you want the whole DVD with menus and everything maybe someone else has figured that one out, but I never do those anyway so am not sure about how you might be able to do that. Maybe ripping with DVDFab Decrypter?

Cheers

I had even better luck with DVDFab Decryptor and DVD Shrink. DVDFab got rid of the annoying delayed start of the movie.

If DVDFab ripped it then the sound is there somewhere. Maybe it is a setting in your PowerDVD that is not right? Point is if you got the VOB files that is where the audio and video is stored. Try playing it in DVD Shrinks preview window..
