Ok, I tried again with image made from original. I used movie files I downsampled earlier (ripped them from wasted DVD5 with Sonix's tool), threw stuff together with Sony CD/DVD Generator 2.00 and converted .iml to .iso with Gnie's IML2ISO tool instead of merging them in the command prompt. Result was same as earlier, game crashes after memory card confirmations.

@L-Burna. Yeah the email's a bit slow with the hosting account's local server. I'll rectify that later. In the meantime, I activated the account for you.

L-Burna, your patcher seems still be only for NTSC version so I can't use it, and I think I'll let this project be until someone have more information about possible reasons of the crashes. I followed Ps2Asker's guide using PSS Plex and ReJig for modifying the movie files (except opening) and didn't notice any errors or other suspicious stuff during the whole process so I can't really say what went wrong.

If I can get a hold of the PAL IOPRP300.IMG file I could make a patch for you,not sure if I can find someone to lend me that file.Oh another thing if you can upload your IOPRP300.IMG file that you have patched right now that might help out also.

I'd be careful of uploading ioprp300.img anywhere to be honest because it's probably copyrighted.

I'm not sure what the movie differences actually are with PAL compared to NTSC, but as far as I'm aware, there's no real difference apart from the resolution. L-Burna's tool should work fine.

Yeah I agree with you Simpsim it could be copyrighted, but if I can get ahold of it I can create a patch for it.A patch wouldn't be copyrighted, but your right man uploading the IOPRP.img file doesn't sound like a good idea.

@L-Burna. I thought you might like to know, I took your batch files, had a good look at them, and I'm taking them on to the next level. ReJig has a command line interface too, so I'm currently compiling a batch that will demux, downsample and remux the files... all back to the original folder ready to press the OK button... well that's the plan anyway.

And as far as bandwidth goes I got 1Gig for the month until I find a decent paid host (Still looking). Still, it'll be sufficient for now whilst this thread's going strong.

I followed Ps2asker's guide, and I was able to burn a 3.87GB ISO file, which run flawlessly in my Magic3 modded 2002 PS2 !

Now I have another question:

Anyone knows how can I extract the music of the game?
I've already used MK's GT3VOLReader, but it gives me an error when trying to extract from track 6 to the last one. The tracks that did extract, opened them with MFAudio, but the audio is not the same as the game. ANY HELP

Hey Simpsim Sonix beat you to the program bro, sorry man he coded a PSS demultiplexing/multiplexing tool with the downsampling all added in one. With a click of one button the program does all the downsampling for you ;).He just added it recently also, and I put it on your site.

@Sonix (and others): Have you tried the LAN multiplayer with this rip ? Does LAN works with DVD5 or not ?
Sorry for asking this for the third time in this thread but I get no awnsers. LAN-play is very important. isn't it ?

I was wonderin, wat files are on layer 1 of the DVD9 gt4 iso? Is it only the GT4L1.VOL file? Im askin this cause every time i try and switch layers with apache 2 it comes up with an error message, so i had 2 extract layer 1 seperately as an iso, and then open that iso and extract the files in there.

Thanks for upload L-Burna. I gave up on batch file last nite after FIVE attemps!!! I'm going to run out of projects soon I think!!!

Grrrrrrrr! Site's down again. Two weeks before migration.

Edit: @Last poster. GT4L1.VOL is the only file on layer 1. You can only get to it with apache 2 by ripping the DVD to your hard drive first, then opening the ISO file with apache 2. Use DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD.

I've followed the guide on your site simpsim1, the cd loads up with sm, but aftr the memory card is loaded and it goes on it comes up with a black screen, and then crashes out. Any ideas where i mightve gone wrong? I used all the tools that were available on ur site, and used sonix's downsampling tool. Could it have anything to do with an error message that came up on cdvdgen when i was makin the iml file? It came up with an error sayin execute error: cd/dvdrom recording unit controler? Desp need help!

Not sure what you've done there. Not an error I've seen before. I assume that it was the ps2asker guide. I put this guide up on the site last week, but I've not had a lot of success with it yet. I'm waiting to get back on to the site to get hold of the new downsampling kit that sonix has made. Once I have it and get a good backup off it, I'll post a new guide and delete the old one.

The people having problems with the game freezing could try upgrading their firmware on their mod chips. This 'freezing' problem happens for example if you are using matrix infinity 1.4 - but upgrading to 1.5 will fix the problem.

Have you tried switching off 'dvd9 support' in the infinity menu? also what version of the game did you backup? (SCES_xx.xx)
