Hi,
I have copied original game with DVD Decrypter [mode-ISO-read] to my HDD. Then I have used Alcohol120% to burn the MDS image onto DVD-R.
The game works SOMETIMES and sometimes it takes up to 6-7 attempts to boot the game. Sometimes it plays without difficulties and sometimes it freezes. I have copied it using 4x speed as suggested on this site.
The second copy I did does not even want to boot even though I used the same procedure.
When read with DVD Decrypter I get 3 files;
DAH.MDS
DAH.I00
DAH.I01
I have also UltraISO if I need to use it.
What seems to be the problem here;
1. DVD quality [used Magmedia local brand DVD-R]
2. Chip issue
3. Wrong copying procedure
T H A N K Y O U!

I backed up this games with a simple 1:1 copy, I was surprised that the game didnt require a rebuild since its quite new. To burn the game try this,
Switch DVD Decrypter to write mode, and then load the DAH.MDS file.
Then click burn, at 4x again.
By the way, what sniper78 ment by boot method is how are you loading the back up, do you have a mod-chip? are you using Swap Magic, or are you using a HD loader, ect...

Thanks. I have mod-chip. It is annoying when text in the game [audio] gets repeated 3-4 times. I will try to copy it again using perhaps better quality DVD!?

I know everyone keeps repeatly saying that most peoples problems are there Media, but i have made loads of perfect back ups with no errors skippings freezing ect and im not using recommended labels
I have used, mr.data black dvd -r
A non brand dvd -r
And some other company who ive never heard of
The qualily of the back ups are indentical to the origonals
Perhaps ive got lucky, and that the media im using is actually good, but im sketpic on the brand name.

and there is a reason people keep saying it, because it is true.
Most of the time when you use cheap media and you have problems with the games sound or video (85% of the time), it is the media. A simple 1:1 copy to some good media solves the problem.
Some other factors of course can also cause this like other programs that are running in the backround when you copy it like antivirus software. Or if you use your system while you are backing up a game.
But more times than not it is the cheap media.
I made a strait up copy on my usual Philips 8X DVD-R discs and mine works just like the original.
and TripleXYZ
it would only be a problem with your chip if your other back up games also had problems. I agree with serranoX3. Go out and buy a small pack (3 or 5) or some good media like TDK,Verbatim,Philips
and try again and see what results you get. You can always use the media that won't work for games to do movies with as they are not so picky about media.

The game is fun and is based on a grand theft auto theme. All I use is HD Advance 2.0 to back up my games. When I back up my original disc I use DVD Decrypter, and go to iso read. Then I do iso write at max speed, and never have a problem with a backed up disc. The only thing I want to learn is patching games such as Splinter Cell Chaos Theory so I can get it to work on the HDD.

Thank you guys!
I will do it today and advise accordingly. I must admit that after reading your suggestions I have realised that I also have used Azureus in the background which uses Java and causes my CPU memory additional stress.
It also may be the cause, perhaps!?!

Just tested it and it works fine! No more audio problems nor boot problems! It was then the media problem. Bought Verbatim DVD-R and copied it using Alcohol120 at 4x.
Thanks again for all the tips.

that will give you the best results. It takes a lot of memory usage when you back stuff up. And good media is the key to good back ups. So no matter what anyone says ALWAYS use good media for games and you will make less coaters. cheap media may work for some, but most people would agree with my solutions.
Cheers, and happy gaming :)

I've tried several types of media in order to back this game up - Ritek, Verbatin & TDK. The game plays fine but I too get the audio being repeated 3 to 4 times and sometimes not at all. I think it's something to do with when the game loads. To rectify this problem I generally reset my PS2.

I finally got Swap Magic 3.6 plus. You guys make things too hard on each other. The best media is Teon DVD+R 8x. $5 for 20 at staples I tested burning different games all at different speeds, and they all work fine off and online I have not had ne problems with ne games including destroy all humans, and splinter cell chaos theory. Try this media it's cheap and if you mess up on a copy it's no loss.

all yall listen to steimy
I have made alot of backups with memorex cd's that worked fine too, but some games just would not work no matter what method I used, (ie Killzone and others) I finally broke down and bought a 50 pack of sony dvd's and havent made a coaster yet. MEDIA, MEDIA, MEDIA don't cheap out on it.
