swap magic is a lot cheaper and you need a fliptop cover. and boot rate is 80% because it does not play DVD9 backups.

hdd is awsome but swap magic is the most common one. the people who have browser screens have the old swap magic. If you want ALL your gamese to be backed up, hdd is the way to go. if you want to back up a few games (except DVD9 swap magic is the way to go). why not get a modchip?

i don't want a modchip because if my ps2 dies someday i wont be able to remove the soldered modchip effectively... so HDadvance is 100% compatible with all games? i thought about getting swap magic...

what about USb extreme? i herd that a lot of games don't work, and that if a game does work, running slow it can be rebuilt modified without dummy files, which will decrease the isos size and the data should stream faster or something..

thanks for the incite bro peace

to my knowledge theres a drawback to everything..

USB Extreme-Slow game speed/Incompatibility
Swap Magic-Cant play backups with out the swap discs (OM that sucks)
HDadvance-i really don't know but i'm sure there are problems

USB extreme is no good, in my opinion. I heard alot of games dont work on those. Hdd is so much better.

so, i'm really leaning towards the Advance or swap magic.. but the thought of having to have the discs in order to boot games terrifies me because the discs can scratch, and they wont work...making my backups useless.

k las question.. is there a way to store the HDadvance boot disk on like a memory card or somethin or have the program boot from my pc connected to the ps2 somehow? jus tryna keep the disc in the cut so i wont have to worry about it scratching.. and not using the hDD!

not sure about that but there is something called memory exploit, you can transfer files on to your memory card. i know on swap magic you cant copy those disks, but ive heard you can on hdd. but not sure.

Id go with the solderless modchip but if you dont want to viod warranty and are dodgy about opening your ps2 then get yourself Swap Magic with a slide tool or fliptop, there great.
