Converting AVI w/ VBR Audio to DVD, help!!!

Okay I got avi movies/episodes that I want to convert to dvd but some of them has vbr audio and when I used TMPGEnc to convert them to dvd, it produces an out of sync audio version of the movie/episode. I tried demuxing the audio using virtualdubmod and converting it to wav and using virutaldubmod to convert the vbr audio to 'uncompressed wav' but this doesn't work either, please help I'm kind of frustrated because I tried every site I know even google and yahoo search engines and no guide works on converting avi w/ vbr audio to dvd
