here's a weird one:

though i've used the program for years tmpgenc without hassle, it's now gone haywire. despite loading the PAL settings(352x288) for VCD compliant files, the program will only generate files at 384x288. I've tried playing with the settings but it will always encode files at this size.

It gets weirder, when i check the properties of these files, windows reads them at 384x288 but a closer look at the mpeg decoder under the advanced tab claims the proper 352x288.

viewing them, they don't look PAL to me and before someone mentions using NTSC instead, the same thing happens, only replacing the proper 352x240 with 352x264 and again the decoder claims it's the proper size.

i tried using another program to encode them(blazemedia), but while it did encode and read the proper 352 x 288, the files were not recognized as vcd compliant by my burning software.

any ideas, anyone heard of this before???
