My ps2 keeps saying disc read error. How do i fix it?

buy a laser disk cleaner and stick it in ur PS2..

BTW how old is ur ps2

Lakee05 Hi hate 2 say it but when u get consistant disc read errors usually means the laser is stuffed. New laser should fix it up 4 u. I do maybe 40 50 a week in Oz. Does it still read CDs(PS2CDs) ie crash bandicoot "the wrath of cortex". Again it is very typical that the laser will still read CDs, just wont read DVDs. Does it read DVD movies. Why am I asking the Qs. If u want answers that r intelligent & accurate , try putting ALL the info of yr problem down in the post including model PAL/NTSC & anything u think might remotely be linked 2 the prob.

usually the laser.
Try cleaning it and adjusting it first. If that does not work then you will have to replace it.

Ive done a lot(in the 1000s)(KHS-400B/C/R,SF-HD7 & V12s) of lasers & I have never been able to adjust this problem out of the laser. The only time when u have joy with them is if the laser ribbon cable is a bit out of alignment with the laser socket. Sometimes u can adjust so they can read DVD originals, but wont read copies or vise versa. Usually they will read CD though. I presume this is because of the ratio of DVDs read 2 to CDs read by the console before it bit the dust.
