Trying to make a DVD with .sub format subs but the program I'm using won't cooperate (DVDLab Pro) I can't seem to find any reference to subs at all in TMPGEnc DVD author either. Can anyone tell me a avi to dvd authoring program that will let me use .sub format subs? Or how to easily convert .sub to .srt?? Thanks

There are many applications out there that can easily convert subtitles. Try Subtitle Workshop or SRT2SUP.

DVDLab Pro allows to add subtitles but TMPGEnc DVD author won't.

If you want an "all in one" program that will encode and author, that will also add subtitles then try The Film Machine or AVI2DVD

Cheers

DVDLab Pro Supports these Subtitle Formats:".sub.srt.ssa.son.sst" so if your Subtitle file is in Sub format then DVDLab should not have any problem.....

Cheers

Thanks for that Minion, obviously I'm not having a problem at all. I must have dreamt the whole thing, phew what a relief! DVDLab must have secretly made the DVD while I wasn't looking, what a clever program. Now, where did it put the damn thing?

Well maybe if you explained the Problem then maybe we could give you Smarter answers...

Are you getting an error message of some sort?? Or is it that you just can"t figure out how to add the Subs in DVDLab?? Or are you getting an error message??

Cheers

sorry for the sarcasm, been wrestling with this for three weeks. What happens is that I load the .sub, set the txt colour and font size, hit the 'generate stream' button, fill in the name of the stream in the dialogue box and hit return. If I'm using .srt subs at this point it starts generating the subs stream. But when I use .sub nothing happens at all. It stalls immediately, but not as a crash or lockup, it just doesn't do anything. I don't get an error message at all. Just no action.

cmotd,

I didn't remember the whole extensions that DVDLab Pro was able to handle (thnx minion!) but if you still have problems and want to convert between sub formats , then use one of the tools previously suggested!
