Hi peaople Ta3devil here in the UK i have just purchased a Camcorder from the US but hadn't realised it had the label NTSC on the front, i have tried playing my other old DV tapes that was recorded on Pal recorders and seems to play back fine. can any problems that i expect to face with the RECORDING of NTSC and PLAYING back ON TV or even copying to DVD, and how can i fix them, i really love the camcorder, but i don't wanna start bying accessories for it if it's no good.
i suppose what i'm asking will i be able to tranfer my NTSC on to mu UK computer edit them and put to DVD as i would do with a normal PAL footage. and will it playback on any DVD player, sorry if i'm babbling on just wanna make sure all the info's there, Please if anyone can help.

They make programs to convert NTSC to PAL and vice versa, and I have never had a problem. I convert the other way(PAL->NTSC) but I can't see why it wouldn't work. Also, you could get a video converter. Input NTSC, output PAL. Pretty expensive for me though.

Hope I helped!

Watch mulit posting- it's frowned on.
From what I understand most PAL players also accept NTSC unlike here in the US which usually only accept NTSC. Check the specs on your DVD player. PAL is 25 fps while NTSC is 29/30 fps. If it accepts NTSC you should be fine. If not as raxor89 said you will need to convert it to PAL.

From what I understand PAL is better than NTSC. While NTSC has a higher fps the line per frame is 525 as opposed to PAL's which is 625.

So pretty much...Is PAL better? Depends on what you find a more important spec. I also mentioned the double post...Figured he would know not to but was stretching:P

or http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/N/NTSC.html
might help.
PAL has better contrast but you can do more tricks with NTSC due to some kind of electronic math, frame rate etc.
If you use Nero it can convert to PAL for you, most PAL tv's will accept NTSC video through rca/phono cables and scart has wiring for svideo input and most dvd players can convert both ways, Good luck, Craig G.
