I am new at this, and I wanted to know how I would be able to burn an AVI file onto a DVD so that I can play it on my DVD player??? And what programs I would need to do it.

Also, I have a movie that says CD1 and CD2 and I have WinAvi, so I converted the AVI's from those folders into DVD files. But I can only burn one at a time, is there a way to unite the 2 Video_TS folders so that the movie can continue on the same DVD???

Thank you!

You Don"t Burn AVI files to DVD, you Burn a "Video_TS" folder to a DVD (DVD"s are not AVI files they are Made From Mpeg-2 Files) useing a Burning Program Like "Nero" in "DVD Video" Mode....

As for your Second Question you Have to Join the 2 AVI files together before encodeing them with WinAVI....

You can Join the 2 Files together useing something like "Virtual-Dub"...

You just Load your First file into V-Dub and then go to "File" to "Append AVI segment" and then Load in your Second File..

Then go to "Video" and set it to "Direct Stream Copy" and then go to "Audio" and set it to "Direct Stream Copy" and then go to "File" to "Save as AVI" and give the File a Name and Save it and in a Few Minutes you will have a New AVI file that Consists of Both Parts of your Movie....
Now you just encode this File to Mpeg-2/DVD with WinAVI and then you can burn the Video_TS Folder to DVD useing "Nero" in DVD Video Mode....

If you would Like to Make a DVD that Has Nice Menu"s and has Chapters Like with Retail DVD"s then you would have to encode your AVI files to DVD Compliant Mpeg-2 files and then use a DVD authoring program Like DVDLab to add your Menu"s and Chapters and any special Features you wanted and then to Finally Burn it all to a DVD ,This is the Best way to make a DVD .....

Well I did what you said, but like 3/4's of the way through the movie, the audio doesnt match with the movie. The audio comes first, and then they say it. Is there a way to fix that before I hit save as AVI file, in Virtual-Dub???

And if there is no way to fix that, then is there a way to just convert them seperatly but be able to burn both of them in the same DVD with a menu, so when the first half is done, it will just go to the menu, and I could select the next one.

I think I might have found a way to make this work. I opened up WinAVI and went to Menu>Format Convert>Batch Conversion, and selected both of the AVI files and it converted them both at the same time. Now when I Play the DVD, theres just a small pause and it automatically goes on to the next movie (second half).

I only played the IFO file with WinDVD, now im gonna burn it with CloneDVD and see how it works when I play it back from a DVD.

This is to be expected, it's very much the same as when joining a flipper disc (flipper disc is the one that's recorded at both sides).
