I am very new to this but I figured out that u can boot backups with launch elf 3.4. I dont know if people use this or not or if every one knows about it but i though some could use this information. I also dont know how well it works seeing as i have only booted 1 game with it. (only have 1 bunt game) Sad

First you need to have LaunchELF V3.4 on your memory card (same as the one in independencecompiler 3.0)

***Load your ps2 trigger disc***

1)\\ At the main menu screen press select on your ps2 controller
2)\\ Move the indecator over X: and press O
3)\\ Move the indecator over MISC/ and press O
4)\\ Move the indecator over PS2DISC and press O
5)\\ Move the indecator over OK and press O
6)\\ Now make sure your ps1 trigger disc is still in the ps2. Press X
at the top corner of your screen it will say reading SYSTEM.CNF... then it will say faild.
7)\\ At this point you open your ps2 tray and put in a non-backup ps2 disc with a higher TOC than the back up. (I used Grand Turismo 3) Close the Tray...
8\\ At the same top left corner it will say detecting disc... Just wait till it changes to stop disc.
9)\\ When it says stop disc the disc will stop spinning and you can use your slide card or flip top to change the disc to your backup.
9)\\ Press X and your backup should now load.

The next time you do this to load your backups you only need to follow steps 6-9 Because you saved the configuration files.

If you all ready have the PS2DISC on you menu follow steps 6-9 and change the X to that ever yours is.

Interesting. It sounds a lot like the method used to boot PS1 games via Launchelf with a V9 PS2. I wish my PS2 read DVDs anymore so I could try it. :(
