well i bought a 3 pack of 8.7gb dual layer dvd-r disc's, now i tried to burn the samething on 3 disc with different methods and different programs, each time i got an error now i allready decrypted it and saved it on my harddrive, i do alot of video editing and my gb's are precious to me, anyway each time i tried to burn the video it would start to burn then halfway through it would give me an error, these arent hollywood blockbusters either, if anyone is aware of teckademics then you obviously know who and what they are please help me, i plan on taking the dvd discs back b/c they are unusable now and sayin they are defective, i will be exchanging them and i will re-try please steer me in the right path,i dont want to pay for any programs but i will download a trial of anything that will work HELP!!

well my computer is pretty much brand new its about a year old, its a HP pavilion a1020n with the light scribe, its allready decrypted onto my hard drive, but my main problem is burning them onto a dual layer disc b/c i have no experience with DL, single layer NO PROBLEMo but dl AAHH!
does a dvd burner depend on wether or not it can burn DL discs?
i will try to reasearch what my dvd burner can do while people are responding b/c i need help.

i also have nero express 6,i just need to find my serial number on many of my cd's i have laying around,i should really start labeling my cd's,i think ill do that now.

yeah, it does depend on the burner's capabilities...i used a Sony Dru-710a and a Pioneer dvr-109 for the DL burns i did...perfect 1:1 copies...what model/brand dvd burner do you use? i don't know ANYTHING about the new lightscribe burners, so i would wait until someone that does responds...i don't want to give you the wrong info as im unfamiliar w/ lightscribe burners... :)

well i went on hp's homepage and looked my computer up and this is what i found:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?lc=en&cc=us&do...

it says its DL equipped but on another website it says: 200 GB hard drive, 512 MB RAM (4 GB maximum), dual layer DVD-/+RW, CD-ROM drives.

there are a few differences between the "stock form" and my form of the computer, basically everyhting has been deleted mostly games and alot of the software that was allready in it and replaced the original software with my own and addition to that i have a bigger external HD with upgraded processors, now my computer is more then capable as far producing media, but why this error on DL discs?

now mind you i have kept everything original as far as the computer working properly.
