Cheap is the word for the FujiFilm discs ... I bought a spindle of 25 .. 15 coasters so far!

Memorex discs made by CMC are better

Dang Catfreak - that sucks! I almost picked up some Fuji -R today at Staples. For the -R they only had made in Taiwan though. Were yours - or + R?. Just curious cause if +R is no longer made by TY another one bites the dust.

That's the strange thing, the Fujis are +R and ID as YUDEN000-T02 ... But the edges are rough, kind of like the old Riteks ...

Thanks for the info - I almost always buy TY's at supermediastore but figured this were even cheaper. Oh well I'll stick with supermediastore - no problems there.

I beg to differ. I think the Fuji 8x +R, MIJ discs are fantastic. I am on the last 6 or 8 from a 100 disc spindle with no bad ones yet.

Catfreak, maybe you need to slow down your burns some. I never burn over 4x no matter what speed the discs are. I'm not worried about speed when burning. I'm more concerned about quality. What's a few minutes when you are backing up discs anyway. If you try to burn at max speed you will more than likely end up with some coasters and bad burns.

I highly recommend Fuji 8x +R and Sony 8x +R, made in Japan discs. Both of these are Taiyo Yudens. No better maker out there.

Just my nickels worth.

I NEVER burn faster than 4X ... I've even tried burning them at 2X .. the only good burns I've gotten from the Fujis is with my LiteOn set top (1X) .. Fuji is [censored] media ...

hehehe...woah nelly~ :) we all have the right to our own opinions of media...while some media works well for a lot of people, might not work so well for others :)

fuji DVD+R w/ the YUDEN000T02 coding has worked wonderfully for me as well, but, hey, we are 2 different people and as such, have two different opinions.

i respect your right to think fuji is garbage media, just as i will tell everyone and their mom I PERSONALLY think Memorex (CMC MAG) is CRAP media~ i would use more harsh wording, but no foul language is allowed on Ad~ :)

everyone just got what works and what doesn't...it's good to hear everyone's thoughts on media...happy happy~ :)

Everybody probably already knows what +r media I prefer. Verbatum dvd+r made by MCC I don't even think TY's can beat em.

I NEVER have any freezing or pixelating with these discs and thats even when I compress 7+ GB to a dvd5 useing DVD-RB/CCE.

Verbatim +R 8X is top notch ... in over 500 burns, I've had 3 coasters and 2 of them were consecutive (they were the bottom 2 discs in a spindle of 50 that had somehow become scuffed). That is 99.4%, pretty good! Previous to the Verbs, I used RICOHJPN produced RiData discs, compiling about a 98% success rate with about 1000 burns. So far, using both Taiwanese and Japanese produced Sony discs, I'm batting 1.000 with over 750 burns ...

FujiFilm disc update - I returned the spindle, coasters and all, pitched a bitch at BestBuy and the kind people there exchanged them for another spindle. Apparently I was the 4th person that had a problem with the discs. The new spindle is 5/5 success rate, so far.

The ones that I returned had rough edges, (I think that it was glue?) while the new spindle has smooth edges ... At BestBuy, the salesman said that apparently they had a bad lot of discs and that the discs are going back to Fuji ...

I'm up tp 15/15 on the new spindle ...

congrats catfreak, so i can assume that due to the "bad batch", you can take back the "fujifilm media is garbage?" comment :)

i've had a few "bad batch" spindles in my experience as well, but, ONLY when it became consistent as in my example with memorex (they are ALL BAD BATCHES, EVEN BEFORE YOU BUY THEM..hehe) that i would say/call a particular brand garbage...

anyways, im not one to dispute or argue with you, i just wanted to know if your mentality or opinion on the fujifilm YUDEN000T02s has changed...since you NOW know that you did in fact get a "bad batch".
and so far, your everyday-run-of-the-mill fujifilm replacement discs seem to be 100% success~ :)

The only reason that I'm using them is that I paid for them. [I was given 200 CMC Memorex discs that I used for target practice] I will buy Sony Yudens but I will pass on the Fuji discs even if they are acceptable. Only Sony, Maxell and Verbatim for this burner ...

No offense taken ... sorry if it appeared that way ... I'm just a creature of habit  [mostly bad habits] ...

To be perfectly honest, I used to really like the RICOHJPN RiDATAS back when you could easily get the 4X ... The 8X just aren't worth spit though ...
