Is there a simple way to burn DVD from the AVI file, which is created from Studio DV thru Mini DV camcorder. Do not confuse me with many acronyms with many free products. May not be best, but I'm looking for good and easy solution.

Hello,

You can try DivXtoDVD.

Go to http://www.vso-software.fr/download.htm

And either use the most recent of version of DivXtoDVD (which handles avi's and much more):

The recent version is the 1.99.12.27 (a release candidate before version 2.0 which will be out in a couple of weeks, which will offer a real trial version, first we total use of application, second week and there on after a watermark will appear, also causing software to be slowed down. Register software by purchasing it and all will run normal again). This new version supports subtitles and has its own burning engine.

Or use the older version:
Found under he last line under DivXtoDVD on this "download" on VSO website mentioned above, you will find a download for the old freeware version 0.5 which will do your job just fine (at least for conversion, then you need some burning software to burn to DVD).

There is a guide on afterdawn for DivXtoDVD 0.5 currently and shortly I hear there will be the guide for the new up coming 2.0-- search this site for the downloads or the guides rather than visiting VSO if you prefer.

I used DivXtoDVD, some reason AVI(27.6GB) file not loaded. Again I converted AVI to MPEG (DVD quality)using Studio DV. Finally I was able to run DivXtoDVD on the MPEG (4.8GB) and it created 11 VOB files, 2 IFO and 2 BUP(total 10.4GB). Now I can NOT burn DVD from these VOB/IFO/BUP is using either Nero or DVD Shrink (Can not read a file...etc errors).

Provide me an easy solution, I got sony hc-42 with mini-DV cassettes(2) been trying to make DVD for a week. so understand i'm newbie..

27 Gb is really big, you don't have any way to rip your video as several files ?

I have tried burning avi/mpeg to DVD discs multiple times using DivxtoDVD without any luck. Even tried changing the options to reasonably acceptable types. Still no luck. I don't think this program is worth the effort. Maybe it could be good for just the conversion but not the burn for sure. All I get in my GE DVD player is this disc cannot be played, check the disc. And in my Playstation 2 it says it is not formatted for this TV? I think it's a big waste of forty dollars or whatever it costs, since I got a free version that was available via KazaaLite...I was attempting on version: 1.99.12.97

you can only convert your divx/xvid/avi files to mpeg2 or dvd movie with this program. It utilises another program to do the burning.

@ KRoteKid:

(edited after admin intervened)
mentioning cracked programs and from the site you got them from is a no no.Please edit your post before the mods do it.

If saying "Not worth a flying flaming pile of you know what is recommending something, you people really have an altered sense of distinguishing reality... Let me repeat that for our slower readers it was not worth trying...I have found Cucusoft Avi to DVD does convert from avi or mpeg to video_ts. Make sure you get a copy of Nero Express to do your burn. Still not sure if you can DVD Decrypt from a burn, but know for certain it will function in a futuristic multimedia of the electronic laser product type of various styles and name brands... Another thing the only way your going to get "DVD Santa" is to buy a copy...
