I've never had a dvd player, so am learning. The Ilo05 powers up, put disk in and it says "no disc", duh...... Also I just want to hook it up to my satellite connection, so I used the vcr diagram, could that be part of the problem? Any info and/or help will be appreciated (before I pull all my hair out).

I also have the same problem. Just purchased the dvdr 05 yesterday, and the no disc message appears after it is done loading. Also, if I try to record, it tells me to insert the recordable disc first. I tried to call the 800# on the box during the "normal business" hours, and got a message to leave a message! HOW FRUSTRATING! Any suggestions will be appreciated.

What kind of disk's are we talking about here? Original DVD's or backed up DVD's ?

they are blank Imation DVD+RW disks.

Seems that player doesn't like Imitation disks at all.

Looks like Maxell disk would be the way to go with that DVD Recorder..

Also one of the users that have that player say you can get a firmware update which could solve you media compatability issues

Latest firmware I have installed is Z18.3.01.05.71.IU with loader version I05NDX04ID and I have no issues worth bothering over at this point, so far. :)
Overall the reviews on that recorder aren't very good though. Most suggest to take it back to WalMart.. ;-(

I don´t have that problem, but the problem that I have is when I put a shcedule for recording, it starts but just record one second of the image on the channel and then change to a blue screen.
Some know what can I do?
