I have backup of an import game and i wanted to play it on my chipped ps2. I burned it and it will not run. I've been doing a lot of reading and ran across a method where i need to load files onto my memory card in order to boot.
Please don't tell me that is how i need to play this game...
The backup i aquired was is an .iso
included in the iso was:
ioprp300.img
slpm__657.68
system.cnf
and a folder named dx2_8
I opened the .img file with a hex editor and the first line contains elf in it. In remembered the elf boot from some guide on another site.
inside the dx2_8 folder are a bunch of .BINs and another folder containing the IRX files
If someone could give me some guidence as to play this backup it would be much appreciated.
The entire file name is TLF-CONSOLE-11.18.04.Beatmania_IIDX_8TH_Style_JAP_PS2DVD-GANT.iso
Yes i would like to know this. I unpacked i WinRAR fullDVD PS2 file that contained all sorts of .afs's/.elf's/.dir's/.pss's and folders containing .irx's and .sys's among a few others. It did not though produce a .ISO.
So the question is (that i have been searching for for soooo long, with no progress) how do you put this onto a DVD to make it work on a PS2?
I have Nero but i tried putting the containg folder onto a DVD-R using Decryptor, no luck. I didnt create an ISO.
I take it i shouldnt use Nero to "burn a DVD image" as its not an DVD image, its just a bunch of files that makes the DVD.
Should i manuually add each and every file (and folder?) to Nero, but what Nero option to i pick? Btw, there are no .cue files in there, but there are a couple of .bin
I cant beleive how hard this info is to find, ive looked all over afterdawn and not found a great thread on it.
Oh well i figured out how to burn stuff like this some time back... If you run into a file that includes something like what i have, you just burn the image with DVD decryptor.
I'm not sure why that image i burned didn't work, but it worked fine with HDLoader. It was too much of a hastle keeping cds around and HDLoader was still pretty new at the time so i went all for it.
If you run into files that are labeled like .r00 .r01 .r02 or something like that, open up one of them (usually the first one) with WinRAR. It will have an iso inside and you can save that to wherever. Burn with DVD decryptor and you'll be good to go.
If you have an archive that you can see a slus_000.00 or something like that, it's already ready to burn. It might have some .bin or something, but as long as you can see the slus_xxx.xx file, you're good.
So far, i've had a few downloaded backups that don't work when i burn them and work on HDLoader. I have no idea why. It could be because i have a worn out laser or something, but the archives are still good. If this happens to you, don't be surprised.
