forget part C....

unscrew the 6 screw under the unit, open it and locate the inside sensor (part C) and use duct tape to hold it down

BAAHAHHAAHHA! Tool C is the most hated instrument known to man. When I got the mod I was like...hey! what the hell! Not only can I *not* close the lid now, but Tool C doesn't even do what it's supposed to! Then they got smart and released a new switch set with an alternate Tool C, which is much smaller, and goes in on the other side of the hinge...(I gave up on stupid original Tool C and bought the new switch mod, called Slim Switch Pro)
that one was a pain to get in, and I ended up mangling it, but it worked the first time, and I haven't taken it out since. (I gave up on stupid Tool C and bought a new switch mod, called Slim Switch Pro)
(I also didn't like the idea of opening my ps2 because of the warranty: My ps2 is less than 3 months old)

Wow d00d...this metal bar you see...is it completely covering the hole, or is it just off to the side? From what I understand, they came out with a newer slim PStwo that had that hole covered (among other modifications) to make slim switch useless*. I had the metal piece off to the side, and my Tool C barely fit, but I just rammed and rammed until it sunk in level with the surface, and it worked fine. (*They didn't eliminate the option of fliptops, or opening the system and plugging these sensors from the inside though...

Anyway, no, I'm not from the UK, I'm from Canada. I got my Slim Switch Pro and Swap Magic 3.6 from http://www.modchip.ca/store/home.php which is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba (at least that's where it was shipped from). Not much better that would probably do you than buying from the states, although I have seen European sites selling the stuff.
