try to take the disc back and trade it as there has been a huge problem w/ badly pressed disc lately and this has been the cure I'm starting to think that this is some type of copy protection. so there is probably someone from sony reading these post and laughing there a** off I have heard this is more common in rentals so maybe they are just dumping the prob disc on b.b.or finding a quick way to dispose of sub-par copies who knows.

For this movie: AnyDVD in background. DVD Shrink to compress. Burn with any standard DVD burning program. Worked perfectly!

I use DVDdecryptor to read the disk in file mode copying the files to a folder on my hard drive then I read the files with DVDshrink and then burned with decryptor.

Hey guys, I burned this movie just the other day with Shrink and DDD without a hitch. but i do have a suggestion for those of you who cannot get it to work, as i have had this problem with several older dvds. Try cleaning the lens on your burner, everytime i've had trouble this has always been my solution. I know that many of you may have done this. But for me it's always the simplest things i foget lol. Don't know if it will help or not just a thought i had.

def. go with anydvd best program out there i was able to do the movie fine with CloneDVD2 and running anydvd in the background (doing the movie only) as i stated in my post above this one.

and if you type in "afterdawn" when buying anydvd you can save 10 bucks making it 29 bucks or buy CloneDVD2 and anydvd together as a package deal for 49 dollars. it will be the best 49 dollars you ever spent if you plan on ripping many dvds in the furture

wannadie, if you spent 20 disk trying to burn this movie, you should have just bought it. Hows about you try to figure out the problem before you destroy so many precious disks.

What comes around goes around.

August 4, 2005 10:55 p.m.:

While my XBOX sends a DVD feed to my composite video in port.

Yes yes yes yes.
Here we all are.
State of the Union and, I repeat and Are we there yet?

Using DVDShrink 3.2:

State errors out at around 14% and
Are we errors out at 27%

Different disks both error out at the same percentage point.
(Thanks aabbccdd).

Then I went to my old friend DVD Decrypter:

Who didn't have much to say but "burp" but DVD Decrypter was gentler being that it will at least allow you to rip the rest of the VOB's and/or files of the entire State of Union and/or Are we there yet. Of course, this is without one of the if not the first main movie VOB's.

So, how do we little children get around this??

I DON'T F'ING KNOW!.

I'm restarting my CPU after having uninstalled my IDE controllers to magically make them start up in DMA mode according to a nifty little tutorial at ?? I don't have the link handy.

So, have they really invented a bug (the movie industry) to circumvent out "backing up?" I find it too coincidential that everybody is running into a problem with the same movies (i.e., state of the union and Are we there yet) And, AND mind you, which have the same star "Ice Cube" Okay, this is getting a little spooky. Please don't tell me that the fun is over with DVDShrink? Please don't tell me that? Are they imbedding a hidden bad sector, which, the DVD player knows to "skip over" while our CPU's need to read it or else "CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Let me know, and I will to.

@trashme read my earlier post this kind of thing is causing chaos I chalk all the probs with these movies up to the greed of the manuf. they are using cheaper more questionable methods of reproduction and distributing they're half-assed attempts to retailers in bulk the mention of the bb name was a mistake I made don't follow my footsteps maybe we can all just say ran up the blockthe majority will understand if it is an important point that pertains to your problem as I am sure we have all used similar means at one time or another to replace that old classic that got damaged before we could replace it.

I think that we need a big sticky on this bad pressing issue on the front page of this forum any second this?
