Hi, i´m ripping my DVDs whit the DVDD and certain DVDs stop the proces with an I/O error that always cames at the same % of the process.
I´ve tried original & copied discs, I have the any DVD installed, i´ve tried copying it to an ISO, and copying the vobs files...
I also tried cleaning the DVDs with alcohol but it didn´t work either.
What´s weird is that i tried those DVD on other device and they work...
Oh... I have an Asus DRW 1608P.
Please, Help me!!!
Thanx

ok I'm kinda confused here I guess your getting errors during ripping? well give us a log from decrypter is this the newest version of decrypter use the file mode to get the vob' sif you plan on compressing to fit on DVD5 (4.7) use iso read to re-write on a dual layer disc.

what I don't understand is the phrase

are you ripping on a seperate device the firmware should have worked for that

Funny, I had the same error where the I/O error for me came up at 14%. After a week and a half of trying, I got it to work. Here's what I did that may help you:

1) I plugged the DVD Burner (mine is external so this may not apply to you) into the firewire port, the fasted on my computer (I don't have USB 2.0)

2) I updated the firmware (as you said you did)

3) I bought BETTER DISKS. The best store bought disks you can get IMO are Verbatim DVD+/- Rs. These are also very cheap, which is decieving, but trust me, they're good.

4) I re-made my ISO file with DivXtoDVD. Sometimes, even if it seems like the file was succesfull, you may have to re-format the file becuase errors pop up.

Hope that helps.

as this is a ripping problem 3&4 aren't any help yet but good advice overall you said you already updated or had trouble updating either way let's get that log copied &pasted here there should be a list of alpha-numerics next to the error I once saw a break down on the dif. i/o errors but have not stumbled across it just yet I will take another look while you get us a copy of the log

btw are you using an external burner??
