yea simple to you guys to so to me :P

how would I check it, I've had some problem with some disc that require an upgrade, which I believe i've done correctly but I would still like to see it on the screen for myself..
thanks

so if someone can point in the right direction to check the firmware for my writer.

well, do you have a media ID program such as dvdinfopro? or dvdidentifier? simply open up one of those programs and your current firmware version for your drive will be up at the top. :)

dvdinfopro : top right corner after "firmware revision"

dvdidentifier: top of page right after the name and model of your drive in [ ] ~ hehee
