How does your network adapter get banned?

Has anyones network adapter been banned and you have to buy a new one, or ever heard of this happening. How can it get banned, and how can it be avoided?

You can and will get banned if you cheat online, or if you get caught using a pirated copy (though that last one seems pretty impossible). I don't think they ban your card or ps2 though, just your CS account, or in the worst case your IP adress *proxy's, anyone? :) * i've had a proxy ban for a week when i got caught using cheats online, even though it was in a game designated as being cheaters only.

Basically, yeah. Once you're past the dnas verification it should be ok, and if it doesn't pass the dnas nothing happens so....
