I am using TDK DVD+R discs before and they were working perfectly. Now suddenly a new package does not work at all anymore and gives illegal disc error. I tried updates for my Nero and firmware updates for my dvd burner. Anybody any suggestions how to solve this matter????

verbatims or even maxells the tdk's arejust to hit or miss the use cheaper dyes & dying processes there might be just two good cd's in a bunch or all might be good or none so just because you had some do well dosen't mean that they are good app's like dvd info pro or vso's inspector will help you sort out the manufacturer's id or the true nature of the disc.
good luck

it maybe a bad batch of blanks see what they ID out as and then check your first batch to see if they match
use DVD Identifier

I tried dvd identifier and it gives a perfectly working dvd disc. But still Nero (and also alcohol 120%) gives the same error.

Hi there,

TDK DVD+R might have a media id = CMC (CMC Magnetic)

Not so good media.

Is this the case ?

Also, burn those at 2x, they will work !

What speed do you usually burn at ?

I normally use 2.4x for the TDK DVD. It should be able to burn at 8x (on the label and confirmed with dvd identifier). I cannot find anything about CMC. Where can I find this??

HI there,

I have never heard of those media (Media ID).

Maybe it is those that are causing the problem.
