I backed up my OS on 2 of them, so I'd like to at least know if my backups are going to last or are junk.

I didn't like em....6000+ PIF's pre F/W update and ~1000 PIF's post update. I'm gonna stick with the TY's.

My benq 1620s love them.These are made by hitachi!

My HP 640c lightscribe hated them!

I backed up my os last week and my dad's yesterday with yuden000-T02.

Nec's are very good burners.I rate these very high because their compatability on many different stand alones is better than many others.Very good quality burner!

Maxell are usually very good.You've got ty,hitachi,ritek,and ricohjpn as their majority of manufacturers. Sometimes bad batches leave the plant from time to time but this goes out throughout the media industry. If I buy the maxell +1x-8x,I make sure it says made in japan on the upc code on the shrink wrapper.The taiwanese ones are ritek r-03 and are still very good.

Best thing to do is download dvdinfopro and run a couple of your movie backups from this media. It has the pie and pif error scans. If you have Nero,it also has a scan test.k-probe also has these tests. You also have jitter tests.
