Is there a program out there that will merge several *.avi files together anmd output one single file?
I know that TMPGEnc does it for *.mpg files, but is there an *.avi equivilent?

You can frameserve the files using Avisynth into VirtualDub. You can then encode this to whatever format of AVI you wish. Otherwise, editors like Premiere will do the same job (for more dollars tho).
