I got some avi movies that I wanted to burn to a dvd. I think it was splitted into 2 files. I was wondering if I convert both of them and just burn it onto the dvd, it will auto play the next file or do I have to combine them?
Also is there any easier way of converting avi files to dvd. Like how Nero convert avi or mpg movies into vcd or svcd?

Hi, seijuro
First, download DivXtoDVD then convert your avi's to dvd using the program. Do it for both files.
Second, download DVD Shrink. Re-author the two files so they can be one file.
After that you will have your whole movie in dvd format.
So, now you can burn your movie to dvd using whatever program you wish. I personally use Nero.

thanks for replying.
I also got some other question if u can help me out. Well the AVI that I got is around 700mb for one. After I convert these what would be the size of the converted AVI?
Also can I just convert a bunch of AVI to mpg and just burn it on a DVD so I can have more than 1 movie in it?

No problem.
After converting your AVI, it would be around twice the size, so about 1.4GB or 1400MB. If you have 4.7GB discs, then its possible to burn more than one movie on one disc. If you want, you can download DVD2One to compress the movie so the file size will be smaller. I believe compressing it would sacrifice quality a little, but maybe thats fine with you.
I think converting to mpeg would make the filesize larger, so dvd format would be better. Also, most dvd players dont play mpegs, but yours may, I dont know.
Also, remember if you want to put more then one movie on one disc than you must re-author them

Get Dvdsanta. Put all the files u can fit on to one dvd, (in order that u want to watch them) and it will convert and burn.

Oh I see...no I would want quality over quantity though so I'll stick to the dvd format like u suggested.
I follow the avi-dvd guide here on AfterDawn. My movie when I used avicodec says 25fps. So when I go to convert it with TMPGenc the guide say I should go to the DVD-PAL since it's 25fps. The problem is will I be able to view the movie since I live in Canada and I heard that I the TVs here can only view NTSC formats.
I thought all dvd players mpeg. Maybe I'm wording it wrong, but I when I didn't have a DVD writer I used my CD writer to burn movies using nero and I'm certain its converted to mpeg1 or 2.
DVDSanta huh? How would the quality end up like though. For example if I wanted to burn a couple episodes of anime or friends episodes.
Also I got a game that has like 4 cds I want to burn it on a DVD so I don't have to switch cds and for backup purposes. How would I go about doing this?

ok, your dvd player plays cd format discs. you can do it that way if you want. I think dvd is better though, more space and better quality.
If those 4 game discs are retail versions, then you must decryp them to backup, because there are copyright protected. not sure if there is a program that will do that. perhaps someone else can help. I know to backup dvds you can use dvd decrypter

Well they are in ISO format and I got 4 of them so I'm wondering which way would be best to put them on dvd

dvd decrypter will work then, it uses iso
PAL or NTSC will both work
PAL is 25 fps, and NTSC is 30 fps.

personally, I treid that guide out too, and I got a much larger file size, and had to re-encode so many times, and the quality actually got worse. I like the DivXtoDVD, because it only encodes once, and the file size is smaller, with better quality for some reason.

Quality is only as good as u get. The more u mess with the file the worst the quality is going to be. No matter what u do the files u get off the internet r never goin to be as good as the original. I have used dvdsanta for the sandlot, rocky 3 and batman begins. The quality is good. But I only have a picture tube. If u have hd or such Im sure u would notice. All them movies I converted from DivX. It took about an hour and half to two hours.

Can someone show me how to use DVD Decrypter to do this? I'm not sure what exactly to do with this program or link me to a guide would be fine
