Alright guys, I need a little help

A simple problem really, but I can't figure out the cure.I use DVDShrink to rip an image onto my hardrive, everything's good. However, when I delete the image my computer is not giving me the memory back. I've lost about 16 gigs. I've deleted all the images but the computer says I've lost them. What's up with that?!?

If you know the enemy and yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will suffer a defeat. if you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.
