What the hell stops the PS2 from reading backed up discs

As a seasoned cd and dvd backup artist. I just like sum1 to spell it out in plain english as to why the PS2 wont read the backed up games. Is it the type of disc, errors embedded on the original, or just good copyright. Im aware that you need a mod chip to read a backed up disc by the way!! Might sound like a stupid question but i think a few people will be enlightened.

Next time plz search as this has been asked a few times, the main reason why a Ps2 cant read copies is that retail Ps2 are imprinted with a code that the Ps2 reads every time the eject button is pressed where as copies are not as they don't have a code so wont boot because the Ps2 cant find that code on the copy, Ps2 games are not burnt there pressed.

There is a sector on the disc that a regular DVD drive can't read but a PS2 can and it of course reads that on boot up. Swap Magic does the boot process for you so a backup will run. I
