Hi I have a 120GB segate HDD and it works good with NTSC games and I can even install a PAL game if I wish... however, I can't play them from then HDD. I've tried using the pal>ntsc patcher (p/n selector) with no luck. I even bought a pal>ntsc adapter for my PS2... and it would work if my TV had a V-hold option.I read a tutorial yesterday, and they said to launch HD Loader/advance and pick install, put in an original ntsc game wait for 45 seconds or longer swap (flip top in my case) for the pal game and it would automaticaly set the video mode to ntsc....this didn't work. I don't know what to do now...should I go out and look for another tv or what? By the way.. the games are Destroy all Humans and He-man Defender of Grayskull. This is very annoying, I can play them both just fine with Swap Magic 3.6 but that defeats the purpose of using the hdd to save wear and tear on the lazer.......
sorry but i dont know what you are talking about, but i think i can still help you. if you are saying that you cant use you hdd on your ps2 than i can help. to use you hdd you need a hard drive, which you already have. you also need a network adapter which you probrobly already have to. now you said something about being able to run PAL and NTSC but you can run games on them. well if you are saying what i think you are saying then i can help. i recommend you not use these other softwares. i recommend you use like a software called hd advanced or hd loader. really there is no diffrence between the 2 but i prefer hd advanced. also for formating you hdd i also recommend you not format it on the computer, because when people format there hdd on the computer they tend to screw it up. what you can do is put you hdd into you ps2 and hook eveything up and just put in one of the hd advanced or hd loader disks and it should start to format you game. now i dont know if this is true with hd loader and people say somthing about haveing to boot it form a ps1 disk so i recommed you get hd advanced. it is a little more expencieve but i think it easier to use. also to use this software you dont need a flip top or anything of the sort. all you do is you put in the hdd advanced disk and you hit the convert button to copy games onto you hdd. what you do is you hit the button and it will ask for the disk. and you just take out the hdd advanced disk and replace it with the game and you hit go and you are good. and basically to run the games you just hit the game you what on the list it gives you when you start it up. if none of this infomation help you...well i am sorry thats all that i know.
no ,no I mean I can play NTSC games from the hdd but PAL games are the problem... anyway I've figured it out.. I had to patch a few of them, and the patcher dosen't work on certain games.. like Destroy all Humans PAL. BUT.... DAH has a 60 hz setting in the option menu, so I have to launch the game from the hdd in PAL mode, with the screen all screwy, then turn on the 60 hz option and it fixes the problem.... sorry if I confused anyone with my last post...I was really annoyed at the time..... thanks for your help.....
