Hi all. Okay, so I'm trying to back up season 1 of CSI and the first disk worked great (although I'm not excited about the quality). I tried the second disk and I can't even rip it. I'm using DVD Shrink with Nero and I get an error as soon as I hit "open disk." I tried DVD Decryptor and I get the same thing. This is the first DVD I've had problems with. And yes, both the programs are the most recent updated. I would give you the exact error message, but I'm at work and don't have access to it. I think the DVD Decryptor message said something about I/O. BTW, I did a search and didn't come up with much. Thanks in advance for any help.

Your disk is either dirty, scratched, smudged or has an imperfection. Try cleaning it really good, or get another original. Also, you may want to think of splitting those disks to get better quality. You can try the 21 day trial version of AnyDVD and CloneDVD and split to two disks and retain the menus, which you cannot do in Shrink. Available at http://www.slysoft.com. Being that these are TV programs and not movies you will loose some quality anyway. Guide for splitting using AnyDVD and CloneDVD is here

Thanks for the reply. Just so I'm clear, you mean splitting one original disk into two, right? I just didn't want you to think I'm trying to put all the origianls on one disk. If so, I'll give all that a try. Thanks again.

Yes splitting one disk to two, having two episodes on one disk and one/two on another. This has worked out well for me using the above programs.
