Hi all,

I posted yesterday about having trouble with SwapMagic 3.6. After getting a good reply from kakapipi, I tried changing to +R media. It was the best move EVER. I bought one Ricoh DVD+R 1-4x from my local pc store ( so expensive :S ) Just to test the brand and quality. I did ISO-READ on the Original PS2 game using DVD Decrypter, and ISO-WRITE to burn it at 2.4x. I tried it, and it worked beautifully. I even scratched the hell out of it and put as many fingerprints as i could just to make sure it would still work when scratched. It was made in taiwan, with ID: RICOHJPNR01.

So morale of the story....BUY +R!!!....-R don't cut it ( on a scph-70003 [slimline] for me anywayz :P ). But I haev only tried one copy so far, so I'm not sure if it was just a lucky copy...but it made me happy :D:D:D.

Hey again,

I found a spindle of 50 DVD+R's on the net for £8.99. They have the same media code as the one i used that was perfect...RICOHJPNR01 // They use the same dye. The company make Is Datawrite.

Do you think it is wise to buy these discs...will they be the same as the one i have for reliability purposes?

Thanks in advance...

I agree, different system like different things.
And differen DVD's work for differnt people
I have used Philips 8X DVD-R for 90% of my games
and they work great in both my V7 & V12
I only use +R for movies.
TDK were the other 10%, also -R but 4X speed, worked great

ok thanks for the tip, thats strange about different systems liking different DVD's lol.

But still....Will those DVD's be the same quality as the other one?

I'm quite anxious to press the pretty little "Buy Now" button lol
