hello

when i'm making a backup of my dvd this message appears:

1. Possible structure protection
2. 1 area has been marked as suspect
3. Dummy sectors will be inserted where nessesary

is this a bad thing ? Wille their be errors on the backup?

hi chilli2,

welcome to AD. The message you are receiving I assume is the log as the dvd is being ripped to your harddrive. That message is basically telling you it is bypassing or removing the css encryption which renders most dvds protected from copying. No worries it is normal when removing the protection. if you really want to know try playing the files in powerdvd to see if there are any missing scenes. Please report back and post your results.

That message is not for CSS - it's for ARccOS.

Decrypter is working fine.
There will be no errors in the ripping stage.
You would get an error report if there was a problem.

got it cynthia...I categorize all copy protected dvds as css encryption as that is the easiest way to explain at least in my opinion. Wasn't trying to mislead chilli2 just thought to keep it simple unless he/ she inquired to the different types.
