I use SmartRipper and I have noticed that it does not work with a Sony DVD. Does anyone have experience in handling this situation? SmartRipper works on all other DVDs so it is something about Sonys.

Most certain your Sony's are protected with ARccOS protection system. SmartRipper can't handle that protection system.

WTF... You cant use any HTML tags in here...

Well "DVD Decryptor" can Handle Arccos and so Can "DVD Fab Decryptor"...

I personally Really Like useing SmartRipper as I believe it has the Most Ripping options of any Standard DVD ripper accept that it doesn"t support the New Bad sector Copy Protections or Sony Arccos...

It would Be Cool if someone who was a Good Programer could Add Arccos support to SmartRipper as the Source Code for the Program is Freely available....

Cheers

@Minion

I have not used SmartRipper, can it be used with AnyDVD in the background like Decrypter can and then it would be able to break the ARccOS? I looked at the program and it looks like it has some nice options.

Well you Know I never Thought of useing AnyDVD with SmartRipper but that is a Good Idea, I"ll have to Try that the next Time I come across an ArCCos protected DVD....

Smartripper has some Great Options Like being able to Rip you DVD to a Single Big MPV and an AC3 file or it can Rip the whole DVD as seperate streams....

Cheers

What do you want to Know how to do???

If you want to Rip the Movie as a Whole Movie instead of as a Bunch of Small VOB files then what you do is set SmartRipper in "Movie Mode" (Top left Side of the screen under "Rip Method"), then click the "Settings" button and under the "File Splitting" settings set it to "Max File Size" and then set the Max File size to "9000mb"....

If you want to select which Streams you want to rip and how to rip streams as seperate Files then in Movie Mode go into the "Stream Processing" settings and select which streams you want to Rip and Un-select the Streams you don"t want and if you want to rip a Particular Stream as a seperate File then Highlight the stream and then select the "Demux to Extra File" option at the Right.....

If you need to know anything else just ask....

Cheers
