ARG! My cd-r's, which should be 860mg are really 702mgs. Any ideas on how to compress my Bin and Cues so that i can burn them? Failing that, can you split a BIN? I have tried all the normal methods (nero 6 through the cue file etc) and i even tried to extract the mpeg so that i can burn a split of that, but i was dissappointed...
Any ideas appreciated - i want to get that stuff off my hard drive!
TIA!

90/99min CDR's still specify ~80mins in the ATIP. Enable overburning.

Thanks! Do you recommend i burn the cue and bin together on the same CD-r? How do i enable overburning?

So this is purely as a data backup then? A bin/cue is a set, the bin is the actual image and the cue just provides details.

Enabling overburning depends on the software. For Nero it is in the advanced settings.

in theory it is a backup of data. i only need the bin, and will burn the cue to the same file if i need it later to enable viewing. i will try it out later and let you know how it went. i think my Nero has something against me.... :)

Thanks so much!

i enabled the overburn and i still have the "not enough space message". i am beginning to think that there is something wrong with my CD-R's. i think i will try it with a different file and a different make of CD-R and we'll see. Thanks for your help and time!

If you have overburn enabled you will still get that message, there should also however be an option to ignore and burn anyway.

Make sure that you are burning DAO.

if i burn the cue file as is the guide on http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/bin_cue_with_nero.cfm, where do i keep the bin file? i assume that it automatically writes the related bin on to the cd-r - right? so can i toss the original?

TIA!

The CD-R will contain neither. The BIN/CUE are a set and contain an image of the CD. Once burnt the CD will contain whatever as inside of the BIN.
