i am hopeing that someone here, i have all faith, that you can simplify something for me.

i am getting really tired of making coasters.

when do you know when to use either dvd decrypter, isobuster, alcohol, nero/after isobuster?

i am trying to put a mds/mdf on a cd (after trying to put it on dvd) and no use, yet another coaster.

i have a couple of files to backup

iso - which i know is a dvd image file

mds/mdf - which is alcohol (how can i put this on a dvd instead of a cd- the least amount of different disks the better) i put this on cd-r, used swap magic cd, didnt work, so i even tried cd loader after swap magic. no luck.

bin file. i have 1 of these and havent even gotten to it yet. lol

are there any totally complete tuts out there for me to print and keep with me.

when do you know if a game has to be "patched"

please help, a person can only have so many coasters.

i hope this makes sense? if not what is not clear please ask and i will give more details.

this is what i have:

alcohol 120
nero
dvd decr
iso buster
dvd scan 3.7

thanks for taking the time to help.

first off i ask what you use to boot your back ups?
if it is swap magic then some games may need to be
patched or rebuild, and the way you know is by
using that great little feature called a search
and search the forums for that game name. Most do not.
Only when you are rebuilding or patching the ISO will
you need to use ISO Buster. The rest you just burn
the MDS file with DVD Decrypter
here is a tutorial page to read that may help you.

and

If it is a DVD based game then it goes on a DVD
If it is a CD based game then put it on a CD
that is the best way.
Alway use good media like Verbatim, TDK, Philips, Ritek G04
set DVD decypter to 1X write speed and let it burn.
