how dont they work?

and how exactly do you copy them?

and you are using the dvd swap magic disc for these games instead of the cd disc by mistake, correct?

how else is your PS2 modded?
swap magic alone will not play back ups
you need one more thing to stop the PS2 from
resetting when you open it to swap discs
that one thing dependes on which PS2 you have
slim or old chunky style
both have aftermarket flip tops that will do it.

he was referring to the slide card as a way to load the backups with swap magic.but seeing as though you got the cd-r to boot up im thinkin you know how to use the slide card properly.

you are making sure you are using the dvd swap magic disc instead of the cd swap magic disc to play the dvd backups.there are two swap magic disc you should have.

the "not valid ps2 game" prompt usually suggests you didnt use swap magic right.and in some cases that you totally copied the game wrong which is hard to do if you made an iso with decrypter and copied that same iso with decrypter.no matter what your speed is.it should at ;east boot you to a black screen or freeze up at a loading screen if you copied it at the wrong speed.

last dumb questions, sorry for all this but
without questions it is hard to come up with a
solution as the error you have can be soooooooooo
many things.

After you download them, what type of files are you burning?
are they ISO files?
have you tried burning them at 4X?
Have you tried any other types of DVD's?
Have you burned any that actually worked?
and have you tried updating the burners firmware?

try cleaning your ps2 lens.it sounds like your ps2 is having trouble reading dvdr games.or it might be the settings on your dvd decrypter.post your decrypter log if you can.

nothing conclusive there.maybe try the iso instead of the mds.but it looks like it has something to do with your ps2.

see if someone will let you try your backups on their ps2.you could use your swap magic to boot the games.that could tell you if it is your ps2 that is the problem.

if you cant find someone that will let you then go ahead and clean your ps2 lens.a cleaner disc might work but to ensure the lens is clean, you should clean it with alcohol and a cotton swab.if you need instructions on that just ask.

you have a chunky ps2 so you would unplug everything incliding controllers and memeory card.there should be 8-10 plastic tabs that pop off underneath the ps2.under those tabs are srcews that you take out(philips srewdriver).flip the ps2 over again and SLOWLY take off the cover, the reset ribbon might be connected to the ps2(v1-v7,i have v9 and its not connected to the cover but take the cover off slowly anyway so not to rip the ribbon off just in case).if it is taped down to the dvd tray,it is alright to take that tape off just dont disconnect the ribbon from either of its ends.now lay the cover close to the main unit and take off the dvd tray cover.there should be 2-4 tiny screws that you take off with a jewelers philips srcewdriver(tiny screwdriver).then remove the cover.you can now see thw lens.get a cotton swab(q-tip)and dip it in rubbing alcohol.squeeze out the excess and wipe the lens gently a few times then use the dry end and gently wipe dry a few times.you can repeat to ensure that the lens is cleaned.you can test it out while it is still disassembled by plugging it in and putting the dvd tray cover back on (you dont have to screw it down).see if it got any better and if you think cleaning it again might help.then when youre satisfied put it back together.remember to screw down the dvd tray first.

id say wait till you test the games on someone elses ps2 before you go any farther.you would narrow the problem down by doing so.
