It says that I don't have enough space to burn the compilation, but I thought DVD Shrink's purpose was to make it fit? I'm trying to burn the 4th disc of family guy and have successfully burned the first 3. Suggestions?

I have turned automatic compression on also. It gives me the message Target Size Exceeded, so I thought selecting Automatic would allow it to be automaticllly compressed to work at 4,360 MB. Also, I use Verbatim CDs to burn

In Shrink, clik edit and go to preferences. Make sure the target size reads DVD-5 (4.7GB). If not, then do so.

There is a limit to how far Shrink can compress. TV program compilations are a particular problem because they cram so much onto a disc, 6 or 7 episodes of around 22 minutes each. That's 3+ hours of video, and usually not much in the way of extras you can remove.

If you want to insist on getting all of this on 1 DVD-5 , you could try having Shrink just encode an iso file even if it's too big, just not write it. When it's done, reopen Shrink and have it analyze the iso file and try to reshrink it.

Or, you can do what I do when compression gets below 65%, I just reauthor and put the episodes on 2 discs.

I also split my TV episodal disks it makes for less compression. You can try the 21 day trial version of AnyDVD and CloneDVD available from http://www.slysoft.com and use these programs. CloneDVD allows you to split and retain menus on both disks, something that Shrink can't do. Here is a guide that explains the process.

Try it out it is a very fast encoder and the re-authoring capablilities are very good and so is the quality. It is a very good app for splitting :)
