"inserir um disco com o formato para". i dont know what the hell that means but it just stays on that screen. can someone help me please and tell me all the tools i need to copy backed up ps2 games.
i currently have decrypter, alcohol 120%, decrypter fd, clone 2, shrink, daemon, and none of them work. please help.

well i do not know spanish, but it looks like
it is telling you to the the disc is not a compatible
format for that PS2. Where the heck did you get one
that has Spanish error messages?
I have seen similar messages, well they were in english,
it was when i was doing movies, not games
It was because the movie was in a format that the TV could not
use.
It could always bee the "not a valid PS2 Disc" message too
which means that either you are trying to pay your back ups
without the right equipments (swap magic and flip top)
or are using cheap media to burn them on.

i use memorex DVD+R 4.7gb. so do i need something other than the tools that i have to copy it. and what is
swap magic or flip flop. are they programs that i down load. i've read several discussions where they told how to use decrypter to back up as a iso file then write it and they never say anything about anything else. can someone help me with that or tell me what all i need.

"so do i need something other than the tools that i have to copy it. and what is swap magic or flip flop."
Sounds like you have the backing up down pat, but no solution to boot the disc on your Playstation 2. FYI you cannot just pop a backup into a PS2 and expect it to work. You need to either 1) Get a swap disc (Swap Magic usually) and a way to swap your swap disc with your backup without PS2 knowing (Flip top lid) or 2) A modchip which, with the right firmware, will tell your PS2 that the backup in the drive is ok to boot.
Not to get too into detail, since its already been answered probably a thousand times, but a plain backup cannot be booted because the PS2 will look for a special code in a part of the disc that standard dvd writers cannot write to (Burst Cutting Area).

well said jashsu
i have ansered about 4-5 similar posts in the
past few days, people just don't seem to search.
i though everyone knew that by now.
P.S. memorex are crappy discs, i would suggest buying
some TDK, Verbatim, Ritek G04, or Philips
when you get what you need to actually play them.
save the Memorex for backing up movies, which by the way you
can play on your PS2 without any modification.

You'll want to read the FAQ here:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/69274
It has most of the basic information you require. As for modchip vs swap trick, it depends on how much you are willing to spend and whether or not getting a modchip installed is a viable option. Modchips do cost more (atleast good quality ones), and the installation itself should only be done by an experienced installer.

Medium not present means theres no DVD-R detected in your dvd drive. Search for one of the threads on how to use DVD Decrypter and follow the instructions exactly.

no, it just means that your PS2 may not like
games done on +R media
they are very picky that way
i would suggest trying 2 things
1. back up a movie on those discs and see if it will play
you will not need swap magic or the slide card for this
just get DVD Shrink, a free program http://www.dvdshrink.org/, and copy the movie
we won't worry about the settings or quality at this point,
just want to see if the PS2 plays it.
2. try doing games on some -R media like Verbatim or TDK
i suggest 8X speed discs which is what always works for me
then burn the game at 4X
here is a link to find your PS2 version
http://www.clearxbox.com/site/pages/version.html there should be a sticker on your PS2 with these numbers.
let me know how the movie back up goes, if the PS2 still
will not play it then it may just be the discs
the PS2 should play back up movies no problem
your PS2 does not even need to be modded at all to play them.
