There's been quite a lot circulating lately that Fuji moved +R production to Taiwan as well. Hence, no longer TY media. Anyone have anything definitive on this?
i have heard very little on this myself, but can say that at least the current stock of MIJ Fuji 8x DVD+R are STILL Taiyo Yuden produced discs. while this could change in a heartbeat where Fuji will no longer be purchasing TY manufactured discs from japan, for those that really like and appreciate the quality of TY discs that can be found locally under either the Fuji/Sony label, i suggest stocking up while they are still available. this trend to purchase from more inexpensive taiwanese manufacturers has basically increased profits for the companies in question and given decreasing quality to the consumer. i haven't been able to find any Fuji 8x DVD-R Made In Japans for MONTHS now, i purchased a spindle @ bestbuy about 5-6 months ago that were MIJ, since then, they have ALL been made in taiwan...i guess this is how the fuji DVD+R format are going to follow suit.
i will add any other comments later once i find out more...

Thats the first I've heard of that. But anything can happen in the dvd media world! That's the worst news I heard since maxell started using cmags in the smaller packs.
THe last pack of FUJIs I got were the MIJ's. Best Buy had actually MORE MIJ's than MIT's on the shelf!! Makes it nice for me not having to sort through all the MIT stuff to find a MIJ spindle.....As long as SONY doesn't switch from TY I'll be happy. As long as the majority of consumers are uneducated as to the quality of media, companies will benefit from using 2nd and 3rd tier manufacturers. Maybe all burners should have a note on them when sold...."CAUTION:Before burning, read the media forums at afterdawn.com"
