My friend got a flip top today for the ps2 version 4. He has installed it following the instructions. When he tried to load up swap magic, the disc doesn't even spin and it makes a noise (it's not the dreading clicking noise) because I know about that. Does anyone know what's the problem please because we don't know what to do?

Thanks in advance.

also a problem could be that when he replaced
the screws in the case, it is just on too tight.
That is what happened to my V7
i undid the screws a bit and it has worked fine since.

I will tell him to try that too. He's at work at the moment so we can't try it out yet but he did tell me that he screwed in the ps2 really tight so that could be the problem. Thanks, I will post if there are problems after that.

hi
did you do the same as this

http://www.chiptek.net/shop/catalog/article_info.php?cArticlePath...

are you pushing the disks onto the wheel if they are on right they will spin with your fingers turning it without hitting any thing as it will if it aint seated right

have you put the little white disk off pic 6 on to pic 8

if so all should work right

i know it sounds a bit mad but are you closing the lid properly

If it's not Spinning right and making noises.. Try Lossening the screws on the cover of the PS2 ... sometimes if you tighten the cover down to tight it throws everything off... sounds strange.. But it works

johnim, your right about not putting the white disk on the flip top but before I told him about this, he took apart his ps2 again and now that he has put everything back together including the white disk, the ps2 power does not work.

Anyone know the prblem please? Thanks.

the power button is a funny little thing i had to leave the screw out that holds it in and delicatly put it back together as it was stuck with the screw in and you couldnt push it

also make sure the ribbon cable is pushed in all the way as it might have come out a bit

i hope this helps

Looks like the ribbon cable on the power/reset button was damaged. I have ordered a new one so hope that it works.
