i've flashed myspider chip with a linux cromwell bios 2.40 i'm new at this and all i want to do is play games but now i cant play anything the blue screen comes up then it spits out the tray...what do i do? but now when i switch my chip off the original boot screen is not there just an error code 5..plz plz help me sort this dilemma i just want my xbox sorted can i reflash the chip with another bios and i am new to this so connecting it up to my pc and all that stuff is way over my head i ust want to know if i could just pop some programme shove it in my xbox and off she goes all sorted...plz help i'd be soooooo gr8full for any good professional help

DL your bios from here:

Here is a little background info. on flashing your Spider chip:

Since you have the Cromwell on there, it may not accept your bios disc. Here is a little Cromwell flashing guide from HackdaXbox's site.

CROMWELL
To flash your chip using this bios you will need the bios disc you made earlier and the Eurasia Pro Generic Flash Disc 1.2, Download eurasia from xbins and burn the iso onto a cdrw or DVD-R using Nero Burning Rom. Burn onto CDRW 4X or DVD-R 1x speed. choose finalize , disc at once and no multisession. Do not use CDR's as the xbox can't read them.

Insert the Eurasia Pro Generic Flash Disc 1.2 at the cromwell screen. The BIOS disc is inserted once the dvd-rom drive opens automatically. The flash process is automatic.

Wrighty, I am having the same problem as you are. Did you have any luck with re-flashing it? I'm giong to do this when I get home from work today and see what I can do. If it didn't work, does anyone know what I can do to get rid of the damn linux cromwell bios? Plz help. thanks.

well i sorted it i sent my chip to a company alled "xbox-mod.co.uk" they reflashed it with the right bios for £6 i also bought an installation disc aswell for £7 it was well worth it cause i was contemplating buying a new xbox but £13 sorted it ll out try there site for more info u'll be best goi to the "contact us" on the main web page .hope it brings u joy :)

yeah it was toooo way over my head so i gave up i'm a amtuer at this game not a computer programmer lol
i couldn't get my mIRC to work and i downloaded a trial version and it would try to connect for ages then i could'nt get the programme to shut down even with task manager so i sacked the idea off
