hi

i just brought the new ps2 slimline scph 70003 because my old ps2 stopped playing cd disks, and have oredered the fliptop with swap magic 3.6. i would like to know what is the best dvd disk to use for my backups and the best cd disks aswell.

i heard that there is laser problems with the ps2 slimline if so how long does it last with swap magic?

i heard that if you ues swapmagic disks in your slimline ps2 it burns your laser eventually ands sometimes it can catch on fire but that only happens rarely...the best disk to use to backup your ps2 games is verbatim dvdr.

Ritek G04, Verbatim, TDK, Philips
those are the best.
I use 8X DVD-R myself

ive had mine now for just over 8 months and has been fine
ive been using datarite dvds and the work fine no probs with over 80+ games

thanks for your replys.

i know your not saying it definatley going to break or burn oiut but it more than likely wont because im worried as im going to void the warranty and its brand new.

if it ever did burn out or anything would a computer game shop fix it ?

please do not use Memorex, they are cheap
and are no good for games. most people will
tell you they have had problem with them.


most computer shops, like EB Games, Best Buy, or Circuit city
will not touch them. You will most likely have to send it to an
online shop to fix it.
But if it's not modded and still under warranty,
contact Sony and they should fix it.

as a shop i was thinking more the non big commercial shops.

or find someone that does mod chipping as they will know whats wrong if i mess up installing it or my laser brakes.
