They have on sale from August 5 to 11, Maxell 100 pack DVD-R and DVD+R sindles on sale for $34.99 each. A $30.00 savings.

I just picked up 2 DVD-R spindles.

Hi there,

Run those blanks (DVD-R & DVD+R) in VSO Inspector or DVDInfoPro and provide us the MEDIA ID please.

I have some Maxell DVD-R with MXL G03 Media ID if I recall, and was suprised they worked great even burned at 8x as a test !

No errors at all, tested with VSO Inspector and ran in both my DVD players.

I have bad batchs in past which came up as MXL ID. My Sony burner will burn these Maxell upto 8X. I ran these DVD-R I just bought with DVD InfoPro. It came as:

The media is rated at 4X burning speed, just so you all know. I purchased a 8X 100 pack spindle the day before, for $49.00.

The following day the sale started for the 4X media. I promptly brought back the reciept to the store, and the cashier refunded the difference to my CC.

Guess they don't care whether its the (exact) same media that is advertised.

In the end, I lucked out. =:-)

It is rated at read 4X. However, most if not all burners with updated firmware should read at 8X or more. My SONY 710A burner lets me choose between 4X, 6X and 8X on these discs. I as a matter of practice never burn at more than 4X anyway. A slow burn is a good burn.

The Maxell that were made by Hitachi (M.I.J) is consider one of the top high grade media in the market or in the media technology. I prefer the Maxell 8X DVD+R (Made In Japan by Hitachi, id code: MAXELL-002-00) over any others. Just my 2 cents, but people are entitiled to their own opinion, so get what's floating in your boat.
