Recently i bought a swapmagic boot-kit. It contained bootcd version 3.0 and bootdvd version 2.0 (Is it normal with two different in one package?) I have a problem with booting dvd games with 2.0. i have tried to backup the following games:

Grand theft auto: Vice city
Red Faction
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of liberty

I copied the discs using: Nero/Dvd decoder/Alcohol. But when i try to boot the discs with swap magic dvd 2.0 but when i press a button on my controller a pink border appears and the background animation frezzes and i cant do anything else.

Somebody please help me!!

I had version 2.0 and had to rebuild, patch, use DVDLoader, etc. I decided to upgrade to version 3.6 - now I have zero issues running ANY backups. That is most likely your problem.

I have the 2.0 yet (haven't got around to upgrading to the 3.6), and I have back-ups of several games without any problems. Unfortunately I don't have any of the games backed-up that you just mentioned.

The 2.0 is for DVD games, and the 3.0 is for CD-R games.

Try this before you trash your 2.0 disk:
Use DVD Decrypter to back-up your ps2 games
(iso read) and (iso write)
Make sure you have good media (maxell, taiyo yuden, etc...)
Burn at a slow speed (all my ps2 games are burned at 2.4, since my burner won't burn any slower)

Good Luck...

First what program or method did you use to put the DVD Loader ISO onto a DVD? Second, to clarify, you put in Swap Magic in, then at the load program screen - you put in DVD Loader, then press X? After that you get the pink border?

looks like you may have had some writing error in the begining before the lead-in. You try different brands of media? Slower speed? I only burn at 1X - although I have heard people swear by 4X, 8X, etc. You may just need to find out what works best with your burner, cpu, media, etc. Try better media burnt slower - see if that fixes it...
