The Flip top is the best and easiest way to go the slide card gets agrevating sometimes.the flip top for the older ps2's is easy you just replace the top half of the case and it makes it open up from the top to get to your dvd drive tray very simple.

OK one huge question I just got the Swap magic3 kit with cd and dvd rom driver for my older ps2, and I got the little plastic slide card tool thingy. ANd I bought a whole bunch of games from this one website called: http://www.backupmasters.net/ ; thinking I can play any burnt game on my ps2 with the sm3, but after I load the dvd rom CD in my ps2, open the disk trey with my slid card tool, swap the games with a burnt game like NCAA 06 or GTA san andreas. The game doesnt load it says: not valid ps2 game. Does anyone know what's wrong??PLMK whats goin on. I'm not sure even if I locked the disk tray close after swapping disks. can anyone tell me how to do that too? Please anyone help me out.

if you locked the disk tray, u will hear a sound, kind of like a "click" sound, well, sort of, anyway, lots people have trouble booting up GTA San, if u do a search in this forum, u should be able to find some posts/methods to boot GTA

Thanks for your reply but Are you suppose to close the tray all the way when you swap the disks and how would use the slide card to lock the tray in an make the click sound?

But how would you use the slide card to lock the tray?I mean i know how to use it to open the tray when you want to swap disks, but how do you use it to lock the tray after you push the disk tray all the way in.

had the same problem, go to www.swapmagic3.com and there is a video tutorial there, or u can just read on , once u have it open and swapped ur game and all that and u have the drive closed (not locked) reinsert the slide card on the right had side of the tray and wiggle around untill u get ahold of something, then slide to teh left if alls goof u'll hear a "click" so to speak and then simply press X and voila swap magic :)

I use the slide card method, but also use a special cover, which guides and protects the PS2 :D
