I recently bought a 2nd hand PSTwo. IT can only play original games, but the previous owner said it was because the mod chip inside was spoilt.
So, i got a chip from decided to DIY. I opened up the set and true enough, found 2 chips on the board. I took both off, but later realised one of them is the Laser diode Fix!
Now the problem is, i reasembled the PStwo without any chip inside to test it, and it does not play any original DVD game! It cant read and when i go to Browser, it says "Disc cannot be read".
Is it because of the Laser Diode being removed? Cos i read up on it and the installation instruction for the Diode Fix says to cut off a particular track on the board.
Now, will a new laser diode added on to it make it work? Or the PStwo is already dead from booting up without a laser diode fix and with a track already cut off?
Please enlighten me anyone, I would not want to waste any money on the PStwo if its already dead!
I checked the connection of the lens the 3 cables i plugged it in alright, but the middle one (ur supposed to lift it up to release the cable, maybe I dont know how to do it well) could be the cause. Any help is appreciated!
can anyone pls teach me? Will the lens become "Disc Read Error" after I remove the Laser Fix Diode, because on of the tracks was cut? Will it recover after i install a new fix diode?
