DVD Decrypter {ERROR}

Hi guys, I have just backed up one of my Music DVDs using Shrink and Decrypter. When I went to burn disc I received the following error. Device to control{FSCTL_Lock_volume] failed
Device[1:0:0]PioneerDVD_RW_dvr-109 1.57[E:] ATA
Unable to lock volume for exclusive access.
Reason access denied. I was able to burn disc by clicking IGNORE. Also got same error when backing up movie using same process. Any help appreciated.

if i remeber rightly it is another app trying to use or hold the drive for use...

hi

say you used the drive to play a film? and left the app open but minimised then you go to use another with the same drive the drive is now being shared and one app wont share access to the drive! so need to close or find out which app is holding the drive location

as dvd decrypter will lock the drive when its using it for exsclusive access but if another app has it it cannot lock it to itself. so chucks an error at you.

also to note some apps not loaded will hold the drive for use like nero INCD if so uninstall INCD!

do you have it installed?

if so try going to control panel / add remove programs

you may have to unintsall the lot? and on reinstall dont tick install incd - not sure

did you get the Nero from the website? latest version?

When I purchased my burner it came with Nero OEM(Nero Express6) and I now have NeroVision Express 3, Nero Recode 2, Nero Smart Start and Nero Digital, I must have got these from website somewhere. I find if one doesnt work then one of the others will do the trick. Sorry I dont know what versions they are and I am a little reluctant to change them as they work.

ok - but at least you may know what it is now!

try looking at startup menu in start button?

try looking by clock for things loaded to system tray and turn them off if to do with drives?

There was a couple of app on startup, I have deleted these and will see what happens next time I use Decrypter and Shrink. Thanks once again for your prompt and informative replies, much appreciated and helping me build up my LIMITED knowlege, cheers.
