should work fine with DVD-R.

Use These Tools to patch and apply the patch then burn the game using DVD Decrypter at 2x speed

WE9 PATCH:

http://forum.pesinsight.com/showthread.php?t=26089&highlight=we9

PPF-O-MATIC (USE TO APPLY THE PATCH)

I have the same problem when loading up WE9 too. I got a black screen after loading. That same disc is working on my friend's PS2. Mine is the first version US PS2 modded with some old modchip that required Action replay to boot the disc. Anyone who know the answer on how I can play WE9 is appreciated. I am a die hard WE fan!! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE~~!!

Same problem for me too!
I tried both the DVD and CD version, got same black blinking screen while loading the game. I haven't applied any patch to the image file. I don't know if that's the game's problem or my PS2's problem. Maybe I will try those games on my friend's console. But still, i really want to get it working on my console. My PS2 required Action Replay with swap disc techique to load and copied PS2 games. Any help is appreciated.

My ps2 used the same action replay+swap disc technique like u do. I went to ask for some game shop owners opinion. They said my ps2's laser len probably is not working (a known problem for early generation ps2). I don't know the true answer. I am going to try burn one more time and test it out, using a solution that I read on the site regarding the Fantastic 4 game.

I tried using the isobuster + Cddvdgen method and failed as well, coming up with black screen again. I now think it may be related to the laser lens problem and considering buying a new PS2 soon. sigh..........

Then it sounds like ps2 laser, no modding or patching or rebuilding of the game is required i just burned my Jap image onto a DVD-R and used swap magic 3.6 and worked fine, i have a new ps2 slim line and modded it with a flip top and i have no problems with n e game.

I borrowed my friend's working copy of WE9 and tried it on my PS2 and still couldn't load it -> Black screen after loading up. I heard from the game shop owner saying those ppl who failed to load the game has 3xxxx version of PS2. Mine is really v35000. I guess i will giveup on this game!

Hi, I have an original WE9, an old mod chip and an Action Replay setup and it will not work. Do you have to burn a copy of the disk in order for it to work or should I be ok with the original?
Basically, it will not move from the Action Replay 'loading game' screen.
Any help is appreciated.

PS I have an old 30003 model PS2. Is this a factor?

I double checked with my friend's ps2 version who works. It should be version 6.

I tried to burn like 7 discs with original files, patched, isobuster+cddvdgen, etc, tried to load each of them many times, and still black screen. no dice. I think I will need to buy a new ps2.

from everybody experience, to sum it up, I guess if one has a old mod chip+action replay method with a old machine, the chance to work is not too good.

Should I be able to read the WE9 disc on a standard PC, because I cannot? I can however read the ripped copy of WE5 that I have. Is this proof enough that my WE9 disc is corrupt?
