Boot unmodded PS2?

Possible?


Very new to this and have unmodded Ps2 witha HD and network adapter an import game. Just cant get the thing to boot from a burnt disc.


is it possible?

Hey,

Can you tell us the name of the game, you need some sort method of booting backups like a modchip or swap magic, are you using anything like hdadvance or hdloader to boot the hdd. You can connect the Ps2 hdd as a slave drive to your PC and use an application called WinHIP that will transfer the game to the hdd without using the Ps2. How do you boot the hard drive?

Its WE9 Jap version. cant get HD advance as no CC, Hdloader seems to not exist anymore from googling.
But assumed there some freeware opensource type loaders that can be used to boot a PS2 to see the HD.

I very new to this only found yesterday i could play imports or backed up games from a HD connected to the PS2.

I would imagine if i can get the PS2 to boot from a cd i burnt i could launch the game, from reading Stinky_1 posts seems its possible but i honestly dont know :)

You will need swap magic or a modchip to boot anything burnt to CD and unforchenetly there's no way around it.

Yeah is a pain, if i was you i would try and get a hold of Swap magic then you can download hdadvance and boot the cd up using swap magic or you could install it onto the memory card if your using a old bulkier Ps2. If you live in the UK then there's a few websites that take postal orders meaning you wont need a CC.

But it does have to be a pfactory pressed Swap Magic/HDadvance/USbadvance disc.


Seems from reading here and other places it has to be amoulded cd and not burnt.

Thought there may have been a way round that, just found a 20GB USB hd too so rightly buggered :)
