I recently installed a sony DVD RW DW-D26A burner into a gateway system.From what i have found out so far about this burner, it is an OEM burner.sony tells me it was not made or sold for sony PC's. But was installed in other manufactures PC's.I have been tring to get either driver software or a driver update for this burner.I am not a pro at computer stuff so I'm asking for help. I hope I have the right forum for this qustion.If any body can help I would be gratefull. thank you Leslie

DVD/CD Burners are Plug and Play so the Basic Windows Drivers are all you need to install a Burner...The only real thing you can Update on a DVD/CD Drive is the Firmware and a New Firmware Can add Better Burning and Compatibility with Certain Types of Media and Can even Increase Burn Speeds.....

If your Problem is that you can not see the Burner in your "My Computer" then maybe go into your BIOS and try to get your Bios to redetect the drive.....
